Join the British Clematis Society
BCS benefits of Membership
The British Clematis Society was founded in the spring of 1991 in response to the growing interest in clematis.
The Society exists to promote the cultivation of clematis through disseminating knowledge and sharing experiences. In particular the aim is to encourage all gardeners to grow and to enjoy clematis throughout the year.
The BCS Facebook Group provides an opportunity for members of the public to talk to one another and share clematis experiences and questions.
More specialist advice and knowledge about all groups of clematis is available in the Member's Area of the BCS web site.
There are regular Newsletters and our Annual Journal 'The Clematis' which is packed with articles and features about clematis.
There is also online access to past editions of the Journal and a range of booklets, leaflets, charts and videos are available. New material is added on a regular basis.
The Society has a clematis seed exchange for Members to use.
From time to time, the Society organises advice stalls at local plant fairs and shows.
The Society wishes to encourage members to get together and hold regular regional meetings across the country, and the Midlands Group is particularly active in this regard, having an annual programme of talks and visits.
With our eMembership (online only), the fee for membership is set deliberately low to enable as many people as possible to become members of this active community.
